TIGERS JOIN AWFL FOR 2024

The Huntsville Tigers proudly announce their participation in the American Women’s Football League (AWFL).  This decision not only adds a new chapter to the Tigers’ legacy but also reflects the team’s vision as they actively support organizations committed to advancing women’s football.

The Tigers, poised to make waves, actively embrace the challenges and opportunities presented by the AWFL.  Team owner, Carmelesia Sullivan expressed excitement, stating that joining the AWFL is not just about playing football; it’s about breaking barriers and empowering women in sports. This move goes beyond the game; it’s about creating a culture of diversity and excellence.  Joining the AWFL allows us to showcase the incredible talent within our team, challenge stereotypes, and contribute to the momentum of women’s football.”

Building for the Future

As the Huntsville Tigers prepare to make their debut in the AWFL, Head Coach Carmela Sullivan sees this as a chance to build a more resilient and dynamic team.  “Our focus has always been on creating a culture of excellence and the AWFL aligns with our values.  This journey is not just about competing at a high level; it’s about inspiring the next generation of female athletes.”

As the Huntsville Tigers step onto the AWFL stage, their story becomes one of empowerment, progress, and the limitless potential of women in football.  The AWFL, committed to providing a platform for women athletes, welcomes the Huntsville Tigers with open arms.  Each member team will play a six game schedule starting April 6th.  The team’s participation is expected to enhance the leagues competitiveness and set a precedent for other teams to follow.  Stay turned as the Huntsville Tigers gear up for a historic season, championing excellence on the field.
