TIGERS WIN SEASON OPENER

The Huntsville Tigers traveled to Chattanooga to the battle the Locomotion.  A rivalry between these two women’s football teams has existed for years.  This game started with a defensive hold by the Tigers as they stymied a clock eating 10 minute drive by the Locomotion.    The first quarter ended 0-0 as both defensive units held the opposing team scoreless.  The Locomotion struck first scoring the first of two TD’s.  The Tigers answered quickly with 3 unanswered td’s which gave them a 24-8 lead.  The Locomotion closed the lead by scoring their second TD of the game.  With the score 24-16, the Tigers needed a score and Ruth Ketcham provided the additional score needed to have breathing room.  The Tigers held off a determined Locomotion team to win 30-16.  The Tigers are 1-0 and face the Carolina Queens in week 2
